Week off to recharge
June 19th, 2009The family has arrived for 5 weeks and I am taking this week off to recharge and to press the reset button. I have felt that my game has been close but I have been lacking confidence and trust in my game which has held me back. My driving has been good but the issues have been with my ironplay with some pull shots creeping in at inopportune times and my putting has been very ordinary too. Yesterday was the first day at Disneyworld which gave me a great chance to stop thinking about golf for a period. This weeks event is in Fort Smith Arkansas and the boys have told me that it is incredibly hot so I am happy this week worked out well to have off. Next week is the Nationwide Tour Players Cup in Bridgeport West Virginia an event that was supposed to be worth $1 million in prizemoney. About 4 weeks ago the West Virginia State Government through their tourist division decided to withdraw their sponsorship. The event is now worth $500 000 which is now the lowest prizemoney on the tour and for an event that is meant to be the flagship of the tour, it is now not. The expenses involved for travelling to each event actually make it an event some guys are now skipping which is a big disapointment. Would have thought the government would realise that we pump a lot of money into the local economy with 150 players their caddies and families all flying, eating and staying in the local area pumping up the local economy. Anyway the $90 000 odd 1st prize will still be extra handy in my account if I win. Oh less tax of course!!! Bye from Hals house in Orlando Florida home of Disneyworld..AB
