Harrington and Karlsson a class above
November 11th, 2008The HSBC Champions event is finally over and after 25 hours of travelling I am back in Dallas Texas for 10 days off before the 2nd stage of US Tour School. I played quite well the last day with Robert Karlsson and Padraig Harrington, numbers 1 and 2 in Europe. They where a class above and where great guys to play with. Some of the top players can be a little cold on the course but both of these guys balanced everything so well and Harrington hit a few of the best 3 woods I have ever seen. Padraig the winner of 3 of the last 6 major championships was exceptional and came and had lunch with me after the round. My last day was up and down with a few strange things happening to me including hitting my drive off the 2nd tee and landing on a fore caddies helmet (ball spotter) and then richoteting into a water hazard. I also had a ball run into a fairway bunker hit the lip, bounce up and then embed under the lip which led to another bogey on 9. The back 9 holes was quite good except for a 3 putt and I felt very comfortable within myself and could feel the AB of old coming back. It has been a painful year with injuries etc but I feel the past 6 weeks a great deal of improvement that was put to the test playing this week and I am very happy within myself at what I saw. 31st doesn't look like anything spectacular but amongst one of the strongest fields of the year I see the light becoming brighter at the end of the tunnel. With 2nd stage of US Tour School coming I am hoping to have to put my sunglasses on soon!!
